Materials Reclamation Facilities (MRFs) & recyclables transfer stations
All the district authorities in Worcestershire and Herefordshire provide kerbside collections of recyclable materials.
At Kidderminster, Bromsgrove and Redditch, Severn Waste has centres that receive and then bulk-transfer the glass bottles, plastic bottles, paper and cans direct to re-processors.
At Hill and Moor, near Pershore, and at Rotherwas in Hereford, we have established Materials Reclamation Facilities (MRFs) to receive, sort and despatch mixed recyclables collected in the twin bag system operated in Herefordshire and in some Districts in Worcestershire.
While these facilities and services have helped the local authorities to reach their statutory recycling targets, there are further plans to improve and extend collections of recyclable materials across the two counties.
