New Green Waste Composting Facility for Herefordshire

On behalf of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Councils, Severn Waste Services plans to build a new composting facility at Upper House Farm, Moreton-on-Lugg, four miles north of Hereford.

Herefordshire residents took around 7,000 tonnes of garden waste to household waste sites in 2008 – and that amount is set to grow. Currently, this green garden waste has to be taken to the company’s site at Pershore in Worcestershire or to third party sites. A local site for Herefordshire will cut down on road miles for the raw waste and the resulting compost, with all the benefits that brings to local gardeners, farmers and landcapers.
