Worcester residents recyling praised

Residents of Worcester have been praised for the increased amounts of waste that are being recycled through facilities operated by Severn Waste Services in and around the city.

The first report ‘We’re winning the war on waste but keep it up’ appeared in the Worcester News on 29 January. It highlighted the excellent performance of the Bilford Road and Hallow Road household waste sites where the amount of waste that enters site and is then recycled has gone up from 50% in 2005-6 to more than 70% last year.

The second report ‘City’s effort is praised as recycling hits target’ was in the Worcester News on 2 February and it marked the landmark 10,000 tonne of waste recycled at the EnviroSort facility at Norton.
