Update on construction mobilisation of EnviRecover Issue No. 10
Nearly all of the piling works have now been completed. The capping beam around the main excavation and the associated ground anchors will be completed within the next few weeks.
Excavation of Mercia mudstone from the ‘shoulders’ of the excavation is in progress and sections of the secant pile retaining wall are now exposed. Construction of the base level drainage works is now in progress.
Preparations are in hand for the start of major concrete slip-forming works to construct the main walls between the bunker, the boiler house and two staircase access ‘cores’. This work is expected to commence in April and the continuous concrete pouring exercise will last around three weeks.
There are presently around 130 people working on site. Site conditions are good and the excellent Health and Safety standards are being maintained.
The new water main into the site is due to be completed in March.
The contractor is pleased to advise that a recent appeal to employees has raised £216 for the West Mercia Women’s Aid.
