Issue No.13: Update on construction mobilisation of EnviRecover
The slip formed construction of the main waste bunker was completed ahead of schedule on 26th April. The specialist contractors are demobilising, and the temporary concrete batching plant will be removed within the next week. The tower crane, which has serviced the slip forming, will be removed towards the end of June on completion of a schedule of ancillary works. The main site tower crane, which will serve the whole site until building completion in mid 2016, will be erected at the beginning of June.
Casting of the base concrete slabs at the -8m level is almost completed. The final phase of piling has commenced for the stack and storage silos and will be completed by the end of May.
Steel work erection of the main building and support structures has commenced, and the first elements of process plant will start to arrive on site during early June.
Regular liaison by Mercia and HZI, the Principle Contractor with Worcestershire Regulatory Services and the Environment Agency has ensured a successful construction phase to date.
