Issue No.14: Update on construction mobilisation of EnviRecover
The main tower crane has been erected on site and will remain in place until early next year. The electric powered crane will provide safe and easy access for materials and equipment to all parts of the site, substantially reducing the need for mobile plant.
All piling work has now been completed, and the final concrete base slabs will be finished shortly. The only remaining excavation works are in the bunker to remove the mudstone supporting the temporary eastern access ramp. The concrete batching plant that serviced the slip forming operation has now been removed.
Steel erection of the administrative block continues. Work has started to erect the steelwork to support the main elements of the boiler and furnace grate.
Significant items of the mechanical plant have started to arrive. There are now close to 200 people engaged on the project. High standards of health and safety management continue to be maintained on the site. If you have any queries, please address them to Envirecover@severnwaste.co.uk
