Update from HZI - Mercia EnviRecover CLG meeting 6
Site maintenance is ongoing with no significant construction or maintenance issues to date.
The construction of the waste crane beams at the top of the bunker walls have commenced in readiness for the cranes to be delivered during November.
The second road ramp (east) is being installed and is due for completion by the middle of October. The process equipment steel structure is close to being fully installed with 85% of the process equipment now lifted into place and aligned.
The ‘heavy lift’ boiler parts have been installed and seal welding the pressure parts has commenced. The turbine and electrical switch gear buildings are progressing well, on schedule to receive delivery of the turbine during September. The level of transport associated with equipment deliveries has now significantly reduced.
The main focus for the coming two months is completion of the boiler and associated pressure parts for a Pressure Test just after the Christmas break, preparation and commencement of the water steam cycle piping (bringing and returning the steam from the boiler to the turbine), completion of the majority of the mechanical installation of the process equipment to allow electrical installation works to commence in January and commencement of the main building envelope during November.
Completion of the electrical switch gear area, turbine building and installation of Western Power Distribution on site works. Final excavation of the bunker to the -17m level will start during October for a period of eight weeks.
