Issue No.19: Update on construction mobilisation of EnviRecover
Work continues on the installation and connection of all the mechanical process plant. The last ‘big’ elements of process plant to be delivered to site are the waste cranes and support beams, the air-cooled condensers, and the diesel storage tank.
The steelwork for the main building has started to arrive on site. Erection of the frame, roofing and cladding of the boiler house is programmed to be completed around January 2016. The main tower crane should be demobilised before Christmas.
Work continues on the excavation of the bunker. HZI have applied for a short-term extension to 24/7 working to complete the bunker excavation. This is safety related - to avoid conflict with overhead work on the waste crane beam during the day-time shift.
The stack has been erected, together with the Continuous Emissions Monitoring platform.
The turbine and electrical switchgear buildings are near completion, with the turbine and transformer now in position. Western Power Distribution (WPD) continue to work on the laying in of the electricity export cable. The crossing of Crown Lane to the east of the trading estate entrance has been completed.
There are presently some 320 people engaged on site. Site maintenance is on-going and there have been no significant operational and maintenance issues.
Worcestershire Regulatory Services inspected the site on 26th October.
