Issue No.21: Update on construction mobilisation of EnviRecover
The main tower crane has now been removed from site.
Work has commenced on enclosing the process plant and completing the construction of the administration block, which is part of the main boiler house building. This structural work will take a number of weeks to complete.
Inside the building the process plant engineers are connecting together all the working parts, as well as completing the installation of the turbine, power generation equipment and steam condensers.
Preparations are in hand for the commencement of site ancillary works – the roadways, weighbridge control building, and fire water tank and pump house.
Western Power Distribution will shortly commence work to complete the installation of the electricity export cable. All the other elements of electricity infrastructure – transformer, switchgear and sub-station - are now in place.
Site organisation and Health & Safety continues to be maintained to a high standard.
There are currently some 300 people working on site.
The project is presently on schedule for the start of commissioning in September 2016, with hand over to Mercia Waste Management in February 2017.
We held our second public open day at Hartlebury Village Hall at the end of January 2016. This was attended by around 25 people. If you have any queries, please address them to Envirecover@severnwaste.co.uk
