Severn Waste Services is currently recruiting for a Recycling Assistant on the Household Recycling Centre at Hanbury.
The working days will be Thursday to Sunday 8am-6pm with a total of 40 hours per week.

Job Title HRC Recycling Assistant
Responsible to Worcestershire Supervisors
Job Purpose To ensure that site objectives are achieved,
including encouraging recycling, providing information and advice in order to maximise performance and achieve recycling targets.
To interact with users of the site to encourage recycling, providing information and advice in order to maximise the recycling performance and achieve recycling targets.
Understand and maintain requirements of the waste management licence regarding waste acceptance and control procedures, operational controls, maintenance, record keeping and emergency plans.
To keep and maintain all relevant records as required.
To wear the Company uniform and protective clothing issued and ensure that it is kept clean and tidy. This is a condition under the Health & Safety at Work Act Section 7.
To adopt safe working practices as specified under the terms of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and adhere to other guidance and instructions which you may receive from time to time in respect of Health & Safety.
To maintain a polite and courteous manner towards members of the public at all times. To provide assistance to members of the public, maximising segregation of wastes to increase recycling.
To control traffic flow and ask members of the public upon entering site the types of wastes they have and direct them to the appropriate containers, to increase segregation of wastes for recycling.
To control the use of the site in accordance with the waste management licence ensuring that no unauthorised materials are deposited which will include examining loads.
To ensure that the site is at all times maintained in a tidy and clean condition so that it presents no hazard to yourself and other persons on site.
To maintain the procedure for monitoring suspected traders.
To drive loading shovels and vehicles as may be required subject to holding appropriate licences or certificates of competence.
To ensure the users of the site do not act in such a manner that they endanger themselves or others.
To attend at weekends and bank holidays in accordance with rotas and the operational requirements of the site.
To ensure that the sorting over, removing or disturbing of deposited waste or recyclables to recover items of potential value for personal gain does not take place.
To assist in the clearing of snow and ice during inclement weather to ensure that the site remains useable.
To take responsibility for the locking, unlocking and security of the site when all users of the site have left, as required
